5 Gallon Hex Overflow

I have an Eclipse Hex 5 that used to be a fresh water guppy tank. I'd like to change it into a sea horse tank. In stead of going the completely self contained nano route, I'd like to plumb it into my existing tank. I was thinking of drilling a hole at the top for the drainage and T off of my sumps return pump for the supply line. I will also be removing the entire light hood and stock filtration and replacing it with a Coralife Mini Aqua-light.

What would be an optimal bulkhead size to drain this 5 gallon tank?

5 gallons is really small for a seahorse tank plus the water has to be colder for them

i would try posting this in the seahorse's and pipefish forum
