I was planning stocking for a 5'x2'x2' 150 gal tank that I will be placing mid September. So far I have:

1 Yellow Tang
1 Yellow Eye Tang
1 Maroon Clownfish
1 Springieri Dottyback
2 Black Clownfish
3 Blue/Green Chromis
1 Flame Angelfish
1 Foxface Lo
1 Carpenters Wrasse

Order of addition:

Chromis
Foxface Lo
Flame Angelfish
Springieri Dottyback
Maroon Clownfish + Black Clownfish
Yellow Tang + Yellow Eye Tang
Carpenters Wrasse

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I too am going through stocking mode (more like restock).
Just a couple things- based on my experience carpenter wrasse are pretty shy so I would introduce them towards the top of list. And flame angels are in the aggressive side I would do it very last (and there is a good chance you won't be able to add anything after the flame). The foxface can fend itself and does not mess with anyone so it's the most flexible one of all fish.

I would go for only one tang in a five foot tank. one spot foxface will stay a bit smaller than the lo. a maroon clown will kill the other clowns.

I would agree and stick with just one tang and either the maroon or the black clownfish not both. The maroon will likely kill the others. Add the tang and angel last.

+1 on the one tang only thing. IMO a Kole tang and Yellow tang may work, as they get bigger you may have issues though. I have a 5' and LOVE tangs but have decided to just stick to one, I really don't want to see them chasing each other around the tank all day.
You may have issues with the 3 clownfish too, Maroon clownfish can be extremely aggressive, especially to other clownfish. I'd stick to the two black clownfish TBH.
I'd also add the chromis near to the end of the list, two reasons for this, firstly they are notorious for ending up as one, if there is no reason for them to school then they wont and this is partly the reason they end up as one, if added after a yellow tang/flame angel you may see them stick together for protection. Secondly I'm a firm believer that you need to feed more heavily to mitigate the aggression between them, to feed heavily you'll want more established biofiltration in your tank.

You are far more likely to have issues with the 3 clowns than with the 2 tangs. I think you'll be fine with those tangs in a 5' tank, they are appropriately sized for that aquarium.

2 tangs easy. I didn't like my carpenters wrasse. Sort of boring. There are much cooler wrasses out there. Look at the helichores wrasses.

I have had great luck with two tanks in a 5" tank. My maroon clown was part of a mated pair. The female died suddenly after three years. The male has grown a lot and is mean as sin. I would not put another clown fish type with a maroon.

Thanks, I think I'll reconsider the black clownfish but will try my luck with the tangs. I'll look into other wrasses!

thank you all

Hello all,

have been reviewing my stocking list and have this as a final:
1 Yellow Tang
1 Yellow Eye Tang
5 Blue/Green Chromis
1 Flame Angelfish
1 Foxface Lo
1 Maroon Clownfish
1 Springeri Dottyback

What would you all think of adding a blue tang together with the others?
