5 year old Greenhouse Update

Don't care.... Promote away....
You're still maintaining a very large and successful multiple tank system. People want to be encouraged by the success of others. (And to steal your techniques).
When we replicate water flow patterns, livestock choices, and water parameters of such successful systems everyone benefits.

Truely an awesome work of art. I see you have the same issues i have with all the electronic equipment strung everywhere and endless wiring, but great idea on the hanging fence panels! I do have a question if you dont mind answering. Are all your corals you sell captive grown? Or is it just the few that are commercially sustainable? Thanks for the video, and certainly thank you for sharing your success and buildout of the green house, great work.

No, not all the corals are aquacultured. Some things either are not able to be propagated or grow so slowly that it's not feasible to do it sustainably. We try to propagate as much as we can because it's much friendlier on the environment and much more profitable.

Hey Than great videos and awesome greenhouse. I disagree that since you are successful and still care about the community, that you are trying to sell more corals through advice and Experience. Look at your exhaust issue. How much did that set you back? How much live stock was lost. I look at it and instantly learn. If it can effect the systems in anyway safeguard or don't use. I am about to do a small scale garage frag tank. No main. My Aussie friends have some friends. Small scale grow sps only set up. I think I have seen Rubbermaid in your videos. Any issues or advice concerning them? How about controlling phosphates, what is the method or do you have a you tube video about how you do? Love your you tube video. Anyone stumbling on your thread here needs to Google or you tube tidal gardens videos. They are insightful and informative. Last question I promise. What are your best tips to setting up a long term growth system for corals. I love these forums but there is information buried and scattered.

Keep up the good work and remember they will tell you if you crossed a line. Which I think your no where near.

Rubbermaid tubs are ok, but we are moving more towards glass tanks. Rubbermaid tanks were a necessity when we couldn't afford anything better. I thought they were indestructible, but I have had two leak on me in strange places.

As for phosphates, I don't even test for them regularly. I don't do anything to manage them because I don't struggle much with nuisance algae so long as we keep up with water changes.

Best tip for long term growth is stability. In the future I might mess with continuous water change systems to try and do about 50 gallons per day slowly over the course of 24 hours.
