50,000 litre tank in a boutique hotel (Bangkok , Thailand)

I have been looking at several articles on Carlson surge device especially on pros and cons . Anyone with the experience on running a Carlson surge device ? Is it worth it for that extra surge ?

Contact Geo at geosreef for a custom skimmer, I have seen some of his on large tanks.
But currently I use a BK, but not sure if they make one big enough for your tank.

I also will suggest bill wanns aquarium engineering skimmers. He can build you anything. And helps with many tank around the world

Don't know the kW/h price in Thailand. Germany is between 0.25 till 0.30 EUR. Big coral shops change to Royal Exclusive to lower the costs. Think in Thailand this is no argument.

If one is not big enough use two skimmers.

Already bought 4 pumps from Royal exclusive .

2 skimmers may not be a bad idea for redundancy. I'd imagine by the time you're up and running there will be a significant investment in live stock etc, so you really don't want a single point of failure. Especially if you're not able to just pop to the shop and buy another.

For reducing energy costs and more performance. Pillar Skimmers gone. One you can see in the background. But now also gone

I just want to let you know I've not got any experience with big aquaria let alone one this huge but I do work in an industry where redundancy is king. As a single point of failure could literally be the difference between life and death.

So I do assume that getting a skimmer or 2 for a tank this large is not a matter of just popping down to your local fish store.
