A few more additions:

Finally got the light blue acro stag that I really liked

These are some of the deep water bali corals that I got from Steve (Vikebron). There are 2 others, but the pics did not come out quite good. These still have the stressed look from travelling all the way from Colorado. They should turn into real nice pieces once they have some time to settle in - about 3-4 weeks.

Got my first fish from Liveaquaria today. 3 bellus angels (1M+2F), one of my favorite fish, and I have wanted a trio of these for a long time.

I have to say I am once again impressed with the quality and care with which these fish were shipped. Box sealed tight, not a drop of water on the outside. Each fish was bagged in 6 (yes six) poly bags with the black liner between one set of bags - each bag individually tied and sealed. It was almost like opening the Russian dolls that stack up one inside the other. There was lot of water in the bags so much that there were 2 boxes used to send the 3 fish.

What impressed me the most was the water quality in the bags. When I poured it into the white bucket, the water was clear, no yellowing and almost no fish poop in the bags !! The air temps here today were around 30F, but the water in the fish bags was 70F.

Fish are acclimatizing right now.... will take pics later. The male is about 4.5" the females are about 4" and 3.5". Fish look very healthy and clean. I was told they were held for over 2 weeks and were eating well. Looking forward to see them in the tank.

I have yet to buy live from them, but from everything I have seen, they really go the extra mile. Can't wait to see those pics! :)

Sanjay, I can't wait to see those angels. I got my regal angel from LA about a year ago and it arrived in great shape. After a few days in the tank it settled right in and started eating fresh clams. Today, the angel continues to do great and eats any foods offered. After that experience, I made the decision to make LA my sole source for fish. With that said, at this very moment, they are holding a harem (1M, 4FM) of bimacs for me. They are set to arrive next week and I will provide pics.

I've bought a number of fish from them for myself and in group orders. same experience with the packing and such. Never have I received a sick fish from them and several were beyond expectaions in size for price.

G. bellus are very nice fish. Congrats.

Got home at the fish are now out in the open hanging out with the others and chasing food.

here are some pics...

Sanjay, I've been following the thread but there is no way I'm going back for this info! What type of sand did you use?

Tank is looking great!

no quarantine for new arrivals?

Sanjay, due to the long nature of your thread could you post a summary of your tank? kind of a tank of the month like summary of equipment.

Sanjay, Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve been watching your threads for a while now and I must saw you really do a nice job.

I have mixed feelings about quarantine. In most cases over the years I have found that getting the fish into a healthy environment has worked well for me. The water quality is better, they eat better when they see other fish eating, and recover from the minor issues. I have multiple tanks so sometimes I put the fish in other smaller tanks if I feel like they need time to build up strength and recover enough to handle the big tank. I also made a large overflow box, to allow fish that might get beat up initially to stay in the overflow box and allow the new fish and old fish to get used to each other. As the fish population grows I get more picky on where I buy the fish from. In this case these fish were held for at least 2 weeks and were eating well.
My experience has been that healthy fish in the tank are more capabable of resisting diseases that may come in with new fish.

I agree with this 100% and haven't lost a fish due to disease in years. Introducing a fish into a healthy natural looking environment, IMO, is the most stress free way to acclimate fish to their new home. Of course, this does not include introducing a fish into a hostile, agressive tank. IMO, even with quarrantine, the fish will not be able to fight off severe agression. I also find that not enough people research the fish they add and just "dump them in". Then they ask all the questions about the fish AFTER they already have it...that's just plain irresponsible. I try and buy all my fish from a reputable source. If you are lucky enough, some of these sources actually quarrantine the fish, get them to feed, then offer them for sale. You pay more for these fish, but IMO, survival rates are vastly increased.
