500G (84X48X30)- NOW REAL !

Just a little clarification, the lens opening is bigger when the f stop numbers are smaller, i.e. f4, f2.8, f2, f1.4. The larger the number is, i.e. f8, f11, f16, f22, the more depth of field you have and the smaller the lens opening is.
Great pics Sanjay and great tank!

Finally, finished the mods on the Bubbleking pump so I could hook it up to my skimmer without having to use plastic hose and clamps. Now its all hooked up with union fittings.

The one thing that sucked is that the BK pump output is not parallel to the base (has a 5deg or so angle) which means that the base that the pump is sitting on has be angled. Right now I am just putting in shims to wedge the baseplate at a slight angle.

Here are some pics of the pump fittings and skimmer.

Hopefully I can finish hooking it up sometime this week.

it looks huge! :)

You have a DC8 with nothing plugged into it? Want to sell it?

What are the fasteners made out of? Are they black nylon or some other material?

They are doing fine. I just have to maintain my weekly blasting schedule.
How do you take care of aefws? Great tank and great pics.

He blows them off the corals with a turkey baster weekly. The fish eat the AEFW's blowing around in the current. This keeps the adult population down, but doesnt stop eggs from hatching.....

To my knowledge, short of removing all acro's from the tank, dipping them in Levamasole or Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, (or some other equivilent dip), placing them in QT for 8 weeks,re-dipping every 7 days, and leaving the main tank free of acros for 8 weeks............there is no way of eradicating AEFW's from your tank. Sanjay's method is the best one available to people with large tanks, and large established coral populations who cannot or will not remove their acro's for treatment. Keep in mind, AEFW's are acro specific. They will not eat seritoporas, stylophora's, montipora's or any other non acro hard coral.

Thanks. I have already delt with my run-in. I was just wondering other alternatives...

Are there SEFWs? Because I have had them on seriatoporas, doing damage....

Those are not black bulkhead.. but reinforcing block that were CNC macjhined out of black acrylic to conform to the shape of the outer cylinder, and glued on.

Sanjay,
Have you observed the AEFW's having a preference to specific acros in your tank over others? If so, which?

BTW, your corals look great....I'm jealous.

Nick

Those SPS are amazing and beautiful! It's hard to believe that you don't do water changes and the corals still thrive like they do.
