Carl:

Yes, they are the ones from QM. I fed them with mysis shrimp, hikari mini pellets, flake food, and pacifica plankton.

I just love to see them in a reef.

Sanjay, im trying to figure out the PAR for the Ushio 14k bulb. Is it the same thing as EVC 14k? I was told EVC is the same company as Ushio, not sure if this is true though. Thanks

No its not the same as the EVC lamp. I know I did the tests a while back and wrote an article for Advanced Aquarist with the data. Its not updated on the website, since I had some issues with data updates and never got around to doing them. One of these days I'll update it, but too many other distractions come in the way :-)

The tank has really matured nicely. I love the file fish but are you worried that they will stop eating prepared foods now that they are in the reef tank? Have you seen them still feed on prepared food when introduced into the tank? Also which bulbs are you using now and what wattage. Thanks.

Orange Spot Filefish, my favorite. Have they showed any interest in mating yet? Are you planning on trying to raise them?

I think they will have a hard time eating prepared foods, since there is too much competition for food in that big tank. They are not aggressive feeders. I am hoping that they can thrive on what they can get from the leftovers and whatever they feed on from the corals. Will be interesting to see how it goes.

I am running 3X400W lamps right now. They 2 Giesmann Coral and 1 Ushio 14K. Tnext switch coming up soon will make them all 3 new Ushio 14Ks.

Thanks for the reply.

Please do update the website when you get a chance, you know us reefers think of your Lighting Guide as the holy bible of metal halide info to follow :lmao::lmao::lmao:
