500G (84X48X30)- NOW REAL !

Stunning! What and incredible collection.

So after 25 pages of build and growth. Is there anything you would have done differently now that it's too late :)

Looks great Sanjay. I saw some of the earlier work on the tank during the presentation you made at the Sceneca Park Zoo in Rochester last year. It's come a long way since then.

I remember reading/hearing that you manage a tank at Penn State. Where is it?

I was just accepted into the Architectural Engineering program at University Park BTW.

Stunning as usual Sanjay.

Can you tell me what this is?

Thanks

Sweet monster post!

Is this a cyphastrea?

Yes it is. I got a small frag from RandyO almost a year ago.

It's very interesting Sanjay in that the surface has such pronounced bumps where the polyps are. Mine is the same color, a cyphastrea ocellina I got from Tyree, and they are much less pronounced than yours. Maybe 1/4 the protrusion.

Glat to hear you have been accepted at Penn State. Yes, I help out with the penn state tank. The tank is at the Student Union Building - the HUB.

Is this an Oregon Tort?

corals-27-020608.gif

Nick

I don't really know what it is, other than it is one of the corals that ORA will be putting out in the future. It quite slow growing.

Dustin from ORA would be the best person to ask what this coral is. Its not the Hawkins echinata. I laready posted a picture of the Hawkins echinata earlier.

Nice....gonna have to get one of those...

Sorry to be annoying, but I cant recall what bulb ballast combo you're using on this tank. I ask because I have an ORA blue tort, that has lightened up to a pale blue after being under my XM10K SE's run by a Sunlight Supply HQI ballast....I'd love to have a coral with the vibrant dark blue that yours does...

Nick

That oregon tort is nice. I love it that ORA has so many nice corals, and did I see somewhere that they are releasing like 18 more this year? If true, we could make spectacular SPS tanks with 100% ORA cultured corals. It is amazing to me how far this hobby has come over the past 15 years.

Looks amazing Sanjay!!! Haven't spoken to you in awhile, but it was a pleasure to come to your house and see this tank in it's infancy. I still have some pics if you want them.

Take care!

Hey Crhis.. good to hear from you. I think I have all the pics from you. We downloaded them from your camera before you left. That was almost 14 months ago.. things have grown a lot since then.

Some of those zoas you got me are doing quite well.

You should come with Copps et al, for the NCPARS frag swap on April 12th.
