5017 Controller Shows "Level" at all times

Happy Friday all -

I have a similar set of symptoms to this post (http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1800169). My controller (purchased 9/2007) shows "Level" at all times, regardless of the IR probe's position. I've cleaned the probe in vinegar, and reset the controller several times (the start-up routine works as expected, as does the pump and high-water alarm / relay). The PC board looks clean, no signs of corrosion or salt/water infiltration. What options do you suggest, beyond the obvious of purchasing a 5017 controller part? I am capable of soldering a new probe onto the PCB, if they are available separately...

I can send an optic sensor if you feel confident you can replace it. It isn't listed as a standard spare part so please PM or email me your info. I am out of these spare sensors until next Friday, they just sent me some today.
