Tanks been cycled for about a week and a half now. Just added the fish and maybe only add 2 more, don't want to overstock too much

My question is where do I go from here? Its going to be a heavy reef tank but should I wait a few more weeks to throw in some Zoas or shrooms? Should I add some inverts or wait on some algae build up? Certainly don't want to rush things just want to plan ahead.

Should I get a doser or a reactor yet? Maybe startup the refug? Not sure which route to take any advice would be awesome!

You can get a doser if you'd like now. Not much need until your reef is up and full bore. Looks like you did everything very right equipment wise. Only concern is the tang and angel. The angel concern will be from a reef perspective might nip your corals.

That's a nice tank to work with, you could do most anything with it coral wise. The Sailfin Tang really should be re-homed, as it needs a tank MUCH larger than yours (240 gallons). The Flame Angel may also be problematic for you if you start to keep corals, there is at least a 50% chance it will start to nip at your corals, some will absolutely destroy corals. It may also become overly aggressive as it matures, they need a tank of at least 75 gallons to not be stressed.

Thanks

Yes, this 50g tank is only temporary to get my feet wet. I plan to upgrade to atleast a 220 in about 8 months to a year. So I bought these guys small about inch and half so by the time they grow out they'll be rehomed.

I'm full aware of the flame angel, it's such a nice looking fish I decided to try my luck. *Fingers crossed*

On a side note just noticed my tank established some copepods yesterday! Not sure if they came from my live rock or what but That's a good sign

I'll get the doser as soon as I start getting coral in but I was thinking maybe a dual reactor for now? I'm going to start adding a few zoas and shrooms in about 2 weeks.

If you are seeing copepods then you can as add some softies like mushrooms. I'd say hold off on the zoas for right now. See how the mushrooms do first. Don't get a doser yet. You won't need one till you are heavily stocked with lps or sps corals. Same with the reactor.

I waited 6 months before I added some GSP and Zoas. Now im sitting here wondering how Im gonna get rid of the GSP and keeping Zoas contained to just one rock.

Plan ahead of the corals. Unless you dont care where stuff starts growing.

I was always told to add zoas first is that not right?
