This is a hard decision to make but I believe it is right. I started this hobby since 2006 with a 20G tank and enjoyed it even since. I used to search for websites, looking for pictures and reading books & articles day and night in order to find a solution to cure a sick fish, or to correct the water parameter. I was a zealot, like everyone else, who would drive 100 miles to buy a few sexy shrimps. Of course there were sad times when I found my favorite fish got killed by a powerhead, or discovered an LFS sold me a bleached anemone for $50 (which I can only blame myself)...... Well, time will eventually dilute all the anger and sadness, precipitating all the happiness and joy.
I may never to able to come back to this hobby, as my wife¡¯s education is obviously more important (the other 50% will go to her education fund). We are planning to move closer to Manhattan, where she can take train or subway to school. And after that, we will go live in China where saltwater fish keeping is a privilege only in southern cities on the coastline. Unfortunately opening a saltwater fish store is also unpractical there because of the operation cost and low popularity. But the good part is fresh water fish store are quite abundant, so I can still recollecting bits of joy some time in my life.
Having heard of the big earthquake just a few days ago in China, we both agreed to donate half of the tank money to Red Cross to help the victims. As a Chinese, I can¡¯t just stand and stare because my family and friends are all safe and sound. Hundreds and thousand of people lost their family. Many kids became parentless. I must do something. So, guys, please help me out, although I have never met the majority of you in meetings or collection trips. I will try to keep everything on ¡°long island price¡±, like everyone else did.
I¡¯d like to sell the full setup if possible. I will keep the full setup open for ~10 days, then break the tank down. During this period, please feel free to post whatever you are interested in. If the majority is claimed, I may end the ¡°wholesale¡± earlier.
