I've never done a sump before so I'm not sure what I would need. Maybe you can help me out. I'm looking to add a sump/ATO to my father's 45G tank when I leave for law school next year.

I'm guessing I need the sump, an overflow, and a pump. I think you have all that. Am I correct? Also, and ATO option? Again, sorry if I missed it. Never done one before so I don't know what to look for.
