520g In Wall Reef Project!!

I actually got a contractor out to cut the hole for the tank. I was planning on a 7'8", but it turned out I was only able to have a 6'10" because of stupid support beam(made up of 6x 2"x6") holding up the garage. For a second I was thinking about moving the beam, until the contractor gave me a quote of $2,500. Then suddenly the 6'10" seem plenty.. :D

He also installed 12" LVL header, but that wasn't necessary because all the weight was bearing down on the support beam.

Here is couple of pics.

hey typhon any updates

I want to share some pics of the equipment area for my old 225g reef. I like to have easy access to everything. I have found out over the years is that, if I can reach it , I probably won't maintain it. :D

Here is a closer look at the heart of my system. My Euroreef RC1000. It did a great job on my 225g reef, but little over kill. For my 520g it will be perfect!! Just love this skimmer.. :D

I have not started a thread yet. But as soon as I get some more equipment I will start one. How ever I did get my steel for the stand now I just have to weld it up.

Well.. it has been ages since I updated this thread. Better late than never.. :D

The tank is actually been up and running for a while now. These are some progress pics.
