I agree- if there were "special treatments" to make the corals look so good, they would just sell those. Most of us SPS nuts would pay.
The Aquaforest system is just a carbon dosing system with optional use of GAC, GFO, and Zeolites - it's no "secret sauce". The individual supplements are things like amino acids, vitamins, and major and minor trace elements. They just happen to be very high quality items at very reasonable prices.

No backlash here, I just find that weird that Aquaforest employe (at least 2), Promote "heavily" Aquaforest products while showing their tank. At least one tank is IN the offices of aquaforest which probably host HCPL/specialized equipement and is being thendered by employees year-round.
It's not fair for sponsor who must stay in their sub forum and not fair for newbie/easily influancable (sp?) people.
The products probably work like KZ and Redsea Color, it's not the point, it's about being truly transparent. Second post on the thread by OP is "The tank run only on products Aquaforest." It might be the mother tongue language difference like myself but I have my doubts.
I think the thread could have been started better with a full evolution and better explanation.

I think Grzegorz probably should have started this bread by stating that he works for Aquaforest- in the interest of full disclosure..
However, I don't think that because he works for Aquaforest, his tank is any better than anybody else's tank could be by using the same products..
So.. Yes, a little more transparency would have been good but I don't feel anybody has been mislead or cheated..

I will agree that for transparency sake it would be best if employees of an aquarium related company disclose who they work for up front, if only to avoid the appearance of impropriety.
I think here its probably a case of an (perhaps overly) enthusiastic company with employees who want to show off how well their stuff works, maybe not understanding how that could be perceived here in the US. There is a pretty big language/culture barrier to overcome. They did establish a sponsor forum here on RC before they even sold any products in the US, so they aren't trying to get pseudo sponsorship without paying for the privilege. I also don't feel like they are trying to unduly influence anyone based on the questions Ive asked and the responses I've received from them in the sponsor forum.
FYI Aquaforest makes way more products than they sell here in the US, including skimmers, sumps, reactors, artificial rock, etc. Several of these European Aquaforest tanks use their products almost exclusively. However, unlike Zeovit, they don't push you toward using their equipment and every additive. The guide is pretty flexible about what carbon source/filtration approach you use, even allowing for biopellets with the system.
You keep mentioning the specialized equipment that the Aquaforest office could use, like HCPL. I'm not following how that makes gives them an advantage that everyone else doesn't have, if they are indeed using such equipment. I can get my water tested by Triton and get the same tests done any time I want. If just testing the water and adjusting elements guaranteed the results I've seen in a lot of these Aquaforest tanks, I'd do it. Based on what I've seen, the Triton testing is interesting but not very useful.
Anyway, my 2 cents on the whole thing. I'm concerned that they are getting lumped in as snake oil salesmen with Zeovit as they have some similarities in their systems. I can see how that happens with Zeovit, they sell you lots of bottles of clear liquid that all smell like vinegar. Aquaforest's products are what they say they are, and the difference is immediately apparent when you see and smell them, and the effects in the tank are pretty apparent.
My understanding is that sponsors can post anywhere they want, they just cant sell stuff outside the forums. There are sponsors who helpfully answer questions in threads that aren't in their forums.

I would love to see an update on this tank.
I switched to aquaforest salt from KZ "Reefers best" a couple of months ago, and the great thing I can say about it, is that nothing has changed...levels are very similar, pretty much NSW levels which I run at....And the best thing is it's £30 a bucket cheaper... IMO well worth a try I will be trying some of the additives as soon as I'm out of aminos etc.
This guy came on here showing a stunning tank, which only had a reference to an AF skimmer. He never promoted or tried to sell a product. When questioned about being an AF employee, admitted to it and added that this is a personal tank at his house.
All that shows to me is he has produced a beautiful tank using products available to all of us.
If this is promoting anything, everyone that lists equipment in there thread is guilty of the same. If I work for an electrical supplier, does that mean I can't show my tank with the lights on? I would be using a product supplied by my company, which everyone can purchase to help create a beautiful tank.

100% agree and do it all correctly. Tank is stunning. Products dont make the tank, if it was that easy everyone would have a tank like this. I would bet 0.1% of people who try to keep SPS have a tank like this.

I always say that product is 50% rest is owner of the tank ...
Of course he is using only Aquaforest products. Time to time he make ICP test to see if chemically all is good.
