540 g for sale in charlotte nc

Hmmm...I know this can lead to divorce court, but can you give me the link to this? I can't find it in the selling forum. Marcye

Sigh...just have to convince hubby. He's afraid the floor won't hold the weight. Hmmm, Val, think you can just tie it on the back of one..lol! I have the 400's already Tom...we were going to use them on the 375 we were supposed to buy. I have a large Euro Reef I'm going to sell to get an AquaC skimmer for my next tank. See, I really want this for Franchesca...she's dying to have a big tank to clean that will require her to don a scuba suit and climb in...;)

If you could let me know what your bottom dollar is on the tank i would appreciate it. You can let me know through pm if you would like.

 Yep that would definitely hold a few scuba divers in it. Franchesca should work on those Rainforest tanks...you have to suit up for those. I'm sure your husband could reinforce that floor! Plus Cindy and Cindy Jr are getting pretty big...they might need a new home. BTW I've heard those Aqua C's are pretty good. Well I hope you get this tank!!

Yep...the Aqua C's have a great rep...I'm working on hubby cmulawka...that's one BIG tank...lots to consider...like, I would need about 400 more lbs. of live rock alone!!! But definitely interested if the logistics on all ends work out...he's softening a bit...last night it was "What, are you crazy?" Tonight it's "...and how would we get it here?" Fingers crossed!

It does sound like he's softening. You could always use the foot-in-the-door-technique. Start talking about a 700!! gallon tank, but then "settle" for the 540. lol, it could work.

this is a sweet tank worth it by far i built it myself and take great pride in my work. Remember you always have alot of opion you could use base rock crates all kinds of ideas to look like you have a lot of live rock

Just out of curiosity, why did you mention in your start up thread not to buy from that tank company? If its for personal reasons you dont have to explain by any means but if there was something wrong with the tank or what not could you let me know, as i am very, very serious about getting a hold of your tank as i went through your whole start up and i can clearly tell you put a lot of money and time into this tank but it just scares me when you said dont buy from the tank maker. Thank you.

Glad you asked this question
Everyone read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first ordered the tank I was under the impresion that It was 1 inch thick all the way around Whell when I got It it was 3/4 top and bottom. I was preatty ****ed but after talking to alot!!!!!! of tank manufacturers they said it was perfectly fine and it saves alot on the price of the tank alot of money this size tank think about it all the pressure is on the side walls not on the top and bottom. I also talked with spazz the Acrylic Expert let me tell you and he said I have nothing to worry about. Another reasons for the not to buy from was the old owner he was really hard almost impossible to get a hold of as you can read in alot of other threads. Another thing was Mike got a bad rep for some bad tanks that he made I have seen the pics and the are Crappy!!!! But if you do some reasearch there are alot of people that are happy with his tanks and I am one of them not because i am trying to sell it but that It is truely a well built tank the seams like mentioned are almost perfect which is rare and the edges are so smooth you can almost see right down the whole peice of acyrlic the side ways. This tank is my Baby I put alot of time into the construction and I am not looking to make a profit but I would like to get something larger and start over with a new project If anyone is serious about the purchase fell free to calll me 704-649-5260 to come check it out or let me know if you want some more pics or pics of certain aspects.
