55 gallon eel/lionfish tank

So I was thinking of starting a snowflake eel and/or lionfish tank. Are they ok together? That's all thank you( constructive criticism of this plan is welcome).

I would recommend against it. The lion will eat anything it can get its mouth around, the eel requires more peaceful tank mates. IMO you would be better off with either an eel specific tank or a lionfish specific tank.

I am planning the same set up in a 60 gallon. Tank is still cycling right now

IMHO, you will end up with problems, if for no other reason than the fact that both are very messy eaters and may easily overwhelm the filtration capabilities of a smallish tank.

I just want to mention make sure you have a secure cover if you do a get a snowflake. Buddy of mine lost one of his 10+ year old snowflakes due to it going carpet surfing not long ago. On another note, he did keep a lionfish with his snowflake, but it was also a 125 gal. As long as the eel is big enough to not be eaten, they're ok together. Snowflakes do get large and can become pretty aggressive... a 55 might be small side if you want lionfish as well, especially if you want anything bigger than dwarf lions.
