55 Gallon SPS Tank

I just moved all of my soft and LPS corals out of my 55 and into a 30L and 35 hex. So now I am looking at a tank with nothing but liverock and a clean up crew. Eventually I'd like to build a 48x48x36 all sps cube and I was thinking I should turn this 55 into an sps tank to get a little experience before I jump in head first. If anything I could always move the sps out of the 55 if I ever build my cube.

I plan on cooking the rock since that's what all the cool kids are doing these days.(slight hair algae problem)

Ditching the 3" sand bed.

The lights will be upgraded to 2x250w MH... 10K probably.

Upgraded skimmer.

The sump and fuge I have should work.

Gonna need to research calc reactors some more but plan on getting one.

I've read all the sticky's at the top of the forum but I'm still not sure the best way to go about waterflow in this tank. Considering that 55 glass tanks are a dime a dozen in the hobby I was wondering if anyone has a 55 with a flow setup they are particularly proud of. Any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
