550g - which skimmer?

I am currently accumulating the equipment for a 550g SPS reef.
The stock will include multiple large angels and tangs together with various small fishes.

I am currently torn between two skimmers and hope that the large tank forum may be able to shed some light more accurately than the standard equipment forum.

Vertex Alpha 300 vs ATB Large.

Which would you choose?

After pondering which skimmer to order for my tank, I went ahead and ordered the Vertex Alpha 300 last week. From everything I've heard about these skimmers, I feel good about my choice.

LAmarine23 has a tank around 500-600g at his storein Clovis, CA.... He runs an ATB L (I believe its just a Large and not a medium), and the thing is a beast. It keeps the tank nice and clean, and there are TONS of fish, along with SPS. Id go with the ATB.

i got a atb medium for my 250 gallon cause i had a atb small on a 100 gallon and they are awesome workaholic skimmers

Thanks for the replies, I have decided to go all out and have ordered a Normal Deluxe internal, equivalent to your Large Deluxe.

I CANT WAIT!!
