I'm still battling GHA, but it's getting better.

I went to LFS on Monday and there was a carrier sitting outside. In Texas on Monday, the temp got down to 40. So I check the store and they hadn't opened yet, which is odd because they open at 8am and i was there at 9:15am. Checked the carrier and 2 kittens were in it. No one came after a few more min so i took them home and fed them and got them warm.

They looked as though they had been there for about a day or so(my LFS is closed on sundays.) I have found homes for the little ones, but i still have them... today they leave.

Kittie update: They are looking great and healthy and are very happy with their new home. They go to the Vet today and the new owner is very happy to have the new addition.

I'm not sure if it was the same around the where you may be at but in Texas we had an awsome temp swing and the way my apt works is it has heat option for ac during the winter, but you can't access the cool option... soooo.. i put a fan up to cool my tank because it was getting way too hot and turned off the heat. i didn't hook my heater back up and left for work at 12pm. smart i know.

meanwhile the outside temp went from being 70ish to aroun 40degrees and i had 2 windows open.

when i got home later at 10pm i checked the temp and it was around 68degrees. yeah, i turned the lights back on and plugged in my heater and nothing was lost. thankfully my lights turned off only about 30min before i got home so it didn't have the time to cool off way too low. Thank you Jesus!

:eek2: :eek2: :eek2: 68F! I'm grumbling about 77.7 in my thread.

777 that's a good # right? :D

Yeah it was down there. Everything is doing great though and i got me a millie that i'm really likeing I got it today at True Percula, have you gone yet? I was upset they took their sps corals up, but when you have a tank of frags you're selling being consumed by AEF(? is that right for acro eating flatworms, hmm?) and you throw them all away, i guess you really don't have a choice in the matter.

Thats about the right temp. Great looking tank though, I love the SPS and they are showing some good recovery and growth. Looking good keep us up-to-date.

Thank you for your kind words, I should have some up dates tomorrow morn... idk, but it'll be before i go to MO, and then i'll have some Missouri pictures to show off :D. i can't wait to see the snow!

I just had an after though...

If i leave to Missouri and leave my tank to heat itself then i'm going to come back to a cooked tank if no one turns the heat off and then the reverse if i don't have some one to turn the heater back on... Crap, now i'm nervous about going out of town... Curse you Murphy and your dumb law!:mad2:

You need to set the heater properly now, so you can watch how the tank responds for the next day or two. You shouldn't have to unplug them each time you don't want them running.

The heater should be 3w per gallon. Don't use a huge heater that can cook your tank. Better yet, have two heaters that add up to 3w per gallon.

Generally that's what i do, i'm watching it today to make sure that doesn't happen and i'm getting a fan so i can keep the heat off it from the MH. I just happened to goof very badly. I need a web cam set up on it and an aqua controler.:D

THe heater i'm using isn't very big and it's not enough to cook the tank, but it's barely enough to keep it heated so i will need to get another, i turned if off because it was getting into 83F and my lights had only been on for about an hour or 2. Thank you for the reminder though Marc. I learned it from this one show that i listend to... ;)

"My pump cause my 25g display tank to overflow cause the siphon was broken. For somereason when this happend the SG shot up to about 1.032... way way too high."

A lot of salt build-up above the normal water line? It would have to be some pretty excessive buildup though.

The new frag is starting to get a bit blue on the ends. i think it likes my lighting. I'm at work now, but i'll see if there's a change tomorrow and hopefully post it before i leave for the snow... i ment er, got to see the in-laws...

Take that picture again, this time focusing on the coral and not the rock behind it.

And pull out that GHA before it travels onto your new milli.

Haha, yeah, i noticed it was focused weird, but i was in a hurry before i left for work :p

I'm working on it. I really want it gone before i leave. It's taking quite a bit of work.

Ok, checks are done and i'm ready to go to MO. Everything is stable and my tank isn't getting over 81F while the temp in the apt is 75F wich is wonderful. I'll take many pics and show you how snow MO... i hope.
