55Gallon Build Thread!!

I bought a 55 Gallon tank to use as a sump for my frag tank but never got around to it. So i finally decided to put the tank in good use. Its going to be a mix reef tank with a low bio load. The tank will be a 2 sided view. Any tips or advice on the aquascaping would be greatly appreciated.

The completed stand, nothing fancy since the tank will be sharing the same sump with my frag system.

Underwater macro shot of the live rock..

sweet bro its looking good, real good, I really like the split island concept in a 55. Any ideas on livestock and what coral ya gonna focus on? also on the two sided view Im thinking the sides gonna be short on what coral could fill those gaps, any ideas? hey outta curiosity how come ya put the intake and output lines next to each other?

Thanks again N!! for fish not sure yet, any suggestion? my old tank was a sps dominated tank and it seems kinda boring. I wanna try something new this time. so probably going to be focusing on a mix reef mostly lps (acan), some sps plus clams, and a few softies (zoanthids) here and there including a couple rose anemone. For tight spot on the side, I'm going to shove a few coco worms in between since thier filter feeders and not photosynthetic. The rock on the end sided view is a huge rock to keep all the other bottom rock secure.. other then that rock, the rest of the tank has about 3 to 5inches in between from the the rock to the glass. For the intake line, because my pump flow rate was too strong for my overflow box and i was lazy to go to the store to get the ball valve. so instead of putting a ball valve i just add another line next to it to slow down the flow rate. Hope that make sense lol

sounds like ya got it planned out quite nicely. I noticed ya wanted a mix reef with a low bio load. I really like my tiger goby and mandarin with the Chalk Bass. Chalk Bass easy care adapt quite nicely and only get 3 inches figure the mandarin for beauty when ya can properly care for it and the tiger is a nice/great sand sifter that doesnt seem to be aggressive towards anything. he does however stand his ground with flare n style and not my angel or tang mess with him now. Something different besides the normal clowns n such. Besides the Chalk Bass are pretty and not many have those, well at least here I hear lol.
