55Gallon Build Thread!!

Oh mandarin goby is a must their super colorful. Sorry not trying to be cocky or sound mean but the tiger goby is a lil too brown for my taste and the chalk bass looks kinda like a fresh water fish. But thank you very much for your suggestion N.. A pair of mandarin goby is on the fish list for me. I need 5 more fishes (small, no angel or tang) for the fish list, any other suggestion from local reefer would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You

I would wait to add the mandarins till the tank is established. Otherwise you will need to supplement with pods for a food source for them.

diamond watchman goby for a sand sifter, tailspot blenny for devtrivore and alge control, threadfin cardinals for a schooling fish, barnacle blennies for a speed feed entertainment, yashia goby and pistol shrimp paired for conversation piece

Thanks X. for your advice, I will introduce the mandarin goby in last once the tank is establish..

I have a tomini tang in mine, it stays fairly small. Maybe a firefish or purple fire fish?

Tomini tang are nice but I will pass on the tang for this set up. The tank will be an open top, I'm not sure if I want to see a dead fish waking up in the morning.. but thanks for your suggestion X.

I only have 1inch of sand bed think I still need the Diamond Goby? I google threadfin cardinal and they look like fresh water fish probably going to skip those guys.. never had any experience with barnacle blennies but i will keep him in mind. yashi goby and randall pistol shrimp will definitely be in the fish list. Thank you so much for your suggestion R.

Actually I google the fishes. I'm sure the tiger goby and chalk bass look alot cooler in person then in the pictures I saw in google.

maybe, i dont know i saw the chalk bass on liveaquaria and just had to have. the tiger goby i saw in robs store and had to have lol

So far my fish list are: Picasso Platinum Clown, yashi goby and randall pistol shrimp, pair of helfrichi firefish, pair of mandarin goby and for the last fish i'm debating to go with either flame angel or flame back angel. any thought or suggestion between the 2 dwarf angel??

more color from the flame but you dont see the flameback as often market strong for both if you think you might try to breed. no prob on the threadfin looks.

WOHOO!! Just got my hamilton halide in from fedex. Cant wait to crank this bad boy up!!lolz

do more firefish if the tank is big enough, they will tend to school looks really cool

I want to, but the helfrichi firefish are $100 each. I can only afford a pair, plus I rather spent that kind of money on the high end corals instead. But thanks for the suggestion R. if I set up another tank in the future i'll definitely keep that in mind.
