Very interesting and informative thread. I must give credit to Sparta both for his perseverance with the tank, but also for keeping posting both successes and failures. Actually, this is a great thread for newbies.

Everything is fine... Don't want to, but the hunt for a job is taking time away from the tank. Also, keeping the tank is about $100 a month. I can sell the tank, save the money and get a rifle I can use to put meat on the table...
Easy choice. Now to sit down and figure out prices... Looking solely at what the tank has cost I'm asking $4k. But I want to find my minimum... Hard to barter when you don't know how low you can comfortably go...

Yeah its not an issue of the tank but an issue of what I'm able to devote to it right now.
I will still be active on the forum and will have a tank again someday.
I'm not giving up, just making a wise decision concerning the needs of my family and our budget.

People in this hobby are vultures, they'll sit back and wait until you are ready to part out.
Hopefully a super duper noob will scoop it up off CL. I can't see any vet picking up a 55g at that price.

Added up the prices I know I can get to part it out.... Pretty much that same price. So, yeah, I'm looking at loosing out on like over 1k on what I've put into this.
And 4k is about what everything totals up to, considering going prices and all that is going with this system.
