5D MkII makes odd noise when shooting?

I just got my camera today and I only took 3 pics to try it out and when I take a pic it makes a weird noise. It's a low tone but I can't really describe it. It's not the normal noise I would've heard (the click) with my 30D.

I'll trade you for my 50D, it makes no weird noises.

Can you take a short video of it, with audio, so that we can tell what it's doing?

Ok, I called canon tech. support and it's fine. The shutter on the 5DmkII is so quiet that you hear the motor. I never noticed it in the 30D. I just snapped a few pics with the 30D and the click from the shutter is very loud. I stuck my ear right up to the camera and u can barely hear the same noise the 5DmkII makes.

So it's fine he said it just has a lot quieter shutter.

Whew... :D

I can and will try the video out on it but it'll be tomorrow. I have to leave for work in about 25 minutes.

It's really weird to hear the motor now instead of the shutter though.

I called back again knowing i'd probably get someone different. She said that it's also normal. Maybe the YouTube guy is using a camcorder with the cheaper built in mic and it is not picking it up.

I created a book through iPhoto though and it was phenomenal.

Maybe the prints aren't so great though.

I'd still like to hear a video of the noise your camera is making, unless now you feel like it's just normal?

There is nothing wrong with the quality of pictures the camera produces. I'd imagine it's fine. Two canon people said it's normal.

I can take a video later; I'm not at home now.

Well cool, I dont need to see a video then. I thought from reading your stuff before you were still concerned it wasnt making a normal noise.

I'd actually kind of like to hear your camera since you seem to think it makes a duck quacking type sound, but I dont NEED to hear it ;)

Maybe it will be great for bird photos, it's got a built in duck call feature. Dont let Canon know, they will start charging extra.
