there was a time when fridmani pseudochromis were for the super rich only, and now you can catch them on sale for 25 bucks. I think that part of the appeal of those clowns, is that they are a rarity, and if you are willing to pay the price you can watch a fish that very few people ever get to see. Who knows, they could have some crazy new mating dance that none of us has ever seen or heard of, and only these 5 or 6 people are going to get a chance to see it, if their lucky. Im not saying that im spending that much money on them, but i understand. Hell, I plan on having a Gem tang someday in a large system, and they can run 3 grand each.

Why are you judging people who buy these? If they're willing to spend $6K on it, then it's obviously worth $6K to them.

I, for instance, am not going to buy them, because they cost more than my annual income. But if it was $550K instead of $5.5K, then I would. I like them.

It is definitely an investment. Getting a breeding pair and having the ability to sell more pairs for $6K means you only need to raise a few fish to get your money back after they start breeding in your tank. After the first two or three pairs you sell you are making a profit and you can sell them for less than LiveAquaria does. Hell, if you raise a dozen of them and sell them individually for $500 you have your money back and are selling them easily compared to LiveAquaria.
