Long story short, I ordered a 6" Blueline and 2.5" passer from NYAquatics. Overnight delivery was suppose to be at my door Tues 10:30am, but a screw up at Fed-ex and I didnt get the fish package til Wed 9:30am. So shipping took 40+ hrs. The package was 24lbs, so easily 2+ gal of water in the BL angel bag alone. All throughout the delay, Michael was in contact with me and fed-ex to try and push the delivery faster. He said the way he bags his fish, they should do okay for 48hrs.
Fear of high ammonia due to the prolonged transit, I temp matched the 2 bags and netted the fish into my 29g QT. It didnt look like the 2 fish suffered any ill-effects of the long shipping. The passer juvie was eating pellets and angel prepared food with vigor within an hr. The following morning, the BL is destroying PE mysis and pellets.
Reading some of the experiences here, I was worried about the large BL not eating. So before ordering, I emailed Michael and he said all his BL were eating pellets, flakes, and mysis. Talk about being a happy camper seeing the BL taking down pellets and PE mysis this morning, especially after the long shipping.
About a month ago, I had gotten a 4.5" Chrysurus angel from NYA, and it should be in my DT in a few days.
For the record, this is my 1st bad experience with Fed-ex. The 10 or so prior times, the fish was always at my door overnight, by noon at the latest.
Talk about an uncomfortable feeling waiting for the fish and the excitement to see the fish arriving alive and doing so well.
