6 line and a 8 line?

8 lines can be vicious. Regardless of aquarium size, I don't think you can keep one with a 6-line without having some serious long term issues.

4 lines and 6 lines are less aggressive than 8 lines. The best thing to do would put multiple specimens of the same species in your aquarium- starting with smaller individuals first.
Multiple 6 lines can be kept together in this manner and may end up spawning continuously in your aquarium.

what would you consider the minimum tank size for keeping a pair, I'm not aimed at them spawning. If they happen to down the road so be it.

40 gallons for a pair of 6-lines or 4-lines.

I have a mated pair of sixlines. There awesome to watch. The male follows the female in and out of the rocks...They also spawn occasionally. I have never gotten any fry out of it though. Heres another thing. I am not sure if its possible but my female (first) sixline eats flatworms. Now I have also seen the male do it. I am not an expert in this but I think that if you have one sixline that eats flatworms the others will learn.

I am big on have multiples of a single species. They will interact with each other much more than mixed species.

If I have a sixline already. How can you add another one to my tank?
