6 Line Wrasse co-exist with Yellow Coris?

So I currently own a Yellow Coris Wrasse and have noticed an abundance of pods in my tank. Some are getting so large (3/8") that I blame them on a small colony of Zoas disappearing. No pests other than pods upon visual inspection and I have seen my pods on my Zoas. The Yellow Coris Wrasse is useless against my fight so I was recommended either a Mandarin or a 6 Line Wrasse. I don't have the patience to train a Mandarin to eat frozen food once the pods disappear so I have opted for the 6 Line but I have caution before I make my purchase. Will these to Wrasses be compatible? I know some species can while others don't.

I had both wrasse in my 50 gal tank before and both were nice to each other. Since you will be adding the 6 line last into your tank, it should be fine. Just be on the look out in case one starts harassing the other.

a sixline is a little bully, but IME won't try to bully fishes that are bigger than it is. That being said, I don't think pods killed your zoas, but you might want to ask the people from the zoa section, I only have one little colony in the making but the hundreds of pods I have crayling around don't seem to bother it

Yes I am having that same problem i have actually caught them in the act and then inspected the coral and found white bone on my slipper coral, Orange plate fungii coral. Killed the fungii just hoping for babies from that hopefully. I bought a yellow coris wrasse and also wanted to know for sure that a six line wont be too mean. I will try to get one significantly smaller. I have a 55 gallon reef with 1 engineer goby, 2 fire fish 1 red 1 purple, 1 yellow coris wrasse is that ok for fish stock. I have a nice CUC

Did you go forward with the six line? I currently have a six line and would like to add a yellow coris wrasse. Not seeming able to get an experiential response to this.

I thought pods were herbivores? I don't have any corals, not intentionally anyway. A few button polyps on some LR I have. I have a mandarin and a butterfly and even though both eat frozen I add pods fairly regularly and haven't noticed pods being pests.
I have looked into adding a 6 line myself but decided not to given the aggressiveness that I see others post.

I would not try and keep a six line with a yellow coris. Six-lines do not play well with other wrasses. Heck, sometimes they don't play well with anyone.

How large? i have a 93 with plenty of places to hide. I will introduce both at the same time. or should i put the 6 line last?
About 4x that size...
Pass on any Pseudocheilinus wrasse if you plan on mixing wrasses.

Indeed.

I had both in a 90g......peaceful for a while until the 6line went crazy and bullied everyone in the tank...I saw the coris once a week if at all, he was always hiding in the sand.....my advise, skip the 6line and get the coris....

I posted earlier in this thread around 2013. I had three yellow coris and a six line in a 65 gallon for 5 years until my tank crashed due to slacking on maintenance.
