6 months old and still finding hitchhikers

My wife was looking at the tank this afternoon and pointed out something new. She said that looks like a clam. I looked where she was pointing and sure enough there is a clam in my tank. at least I think its a clam. Its definately a bivalve of some type. Its about 3/4 of an inch long with whiteish gray shells and a dark purple mantle when it opens. It opens about 1/4 inch and will snap shut when you shine a light at it. I dont know how I missed it before other than its in a small hole in the rock. Its right next to the brown polyps that I have. I spot feed them 2 or 3 times a week I cant believe Ive never noticed him before. I will try to get a picture later. Why are the batteries always dead when you need them.
