600 gallon Acrylic and Glass Reef Construction.

Im guessing that you could easily build a float tripped cut off. Drain the skimmate to a 5g bucket with a simple float attached to it that controls the Orca Gold. ?

Not sure, I have had a beckett for a long time and the one thing I really liked about it was the auto-shutoff containers that can be used with becketts and downdrafts. I wasn't aware of any technology that would allow a needlewheel to be shutoff when the cup was full. I'll look around for the float switch that goes with the Orca gold. I won't have another bigger tank for a while but when I do I'll probably get a big needlewheel.

thanks Paul:) Chris

Ohhh.......My.....God........ This is probably the best tank Ive ever seen in a residential setting.. PW you are the man.. way to go.. I mean no offense.. but I never had anything I wanted to see in Oklahoma until now.. Truly impressive great work.. Just read through this entire thread from the initial tank leak Which was nearly as impressive) to the final run.. I'm just amazed and so so proud of what you have accomplished :) Keep it up

i have a pink tail and i have not had any problems with it. they are planktivors, unlike most triggers. it eats out of my hand. it likes Nori and can eat about 10 sq in per day plus other food. mine is about 7" now.

be aware they get 12-15". last time i was in Hawaii snorkeling i followed a mature one around for an hour. that was fun.

Lyfey:

The closed loop continues to do its job, though with the growth of the corals i have had to add a few tunzes to the mix to get to certain areas.

Hugo:
The pink tail is a model citizen. I havent seen him try and eat anything in my tank other than the food I add, which he absolutely attacks. A really nice fish.
Having said that- I have known others who have had them and they ate zoas, but mine is fine.

This tank is amazing! Please tell me you won tank of the month before! This looks nicer than the dives I did in Hawaii. Very impressive corals, some I've never seen before. Where did you get that extraordinary colored monti? It looks like it has 3 or 4 different colors.

I have won tank of the month before, but not for this tank. That was my older 600g.. similar idea but very much different scaping.

All the montis were acquired as frags- and i really have no recollection of where they all came from, sorry.

This tank is now 2 years and a few months old. Mostly everything you see went in as a frag, only a few pieces could be called colony sized.
