It looks a little different right now, Just spent a few hours cleaning the sand bed and moving odd frags around.
 
its not really a large bioload in a 1000g system.

I also run an MRC proII skimmer- which I can strongly recommend for its efficiency.

I dont supplement anything other than running a calcium reactor.

thanks. 1000g of water, that's a huge system. How often do you do water changes? I'm setting up a 180 gallon tank and about 30 gallons in the sump. probably 190 gallons total water volume when you take the minimal sand and live rock into account. I'm on the fence as to how often I should do WCs. I was thinking 20% every 2 weeks. What do you think?
 
water changes, probably once a month, 100gal at a time.

Smaller tanks require more frequent changes, but your corals will let you know that. Every great tank I have seen has a regular water change schedule.
