As for cost, with a few exceptions, I have the same equipment on this tank as I did on my 225g. I just purchased stuff I would use on the next tank (the 600g). Over 225g I had 5 400W.
I added 1 400W MH and a sequence pump. The tunzes I added over time. The rock I picked up during a vacation in Hawaii, so that saved a great deal. I just added some T5s ( a tek T5 retro kit)
This hobby is not cheap, not by any stretch, but I think its worth it....
A large tank has always been my dream.....

Ya I know when i had my 280 gal tank it just seemed like it was never ending either ... but i went from a 120 to a 280 so i ahd alot fo bigger stuff to buy.
I run 2 400 w pendants over my 5 ft tank the ballast that i run is a pulse start. i'm having a hard time in what bulbs that i like better i like the blue look but the radiums are like 140 each and they only last around 8 months if that.
What type of bulbs are you running on your tank? I thought about running another pendant over my tank maybe a 250 or a 400 havent done it yet thou ..

those phoenix bulbs do look nice. I just havent bit the bullet and upgraded ballasts. Everytime you get the color where you want it, you see something else that looks better.

BTW....the pink stylo (was it a stylo) is doing very well atop her perch.
I know i posted this earlier, but the pic of the frag from Charlie is at the top of the pillar in the center...........the pic doesnt do it justice, but it is a true centerpiece. Fantastic color. Thanks once again Charlie. The moment I saw that frag in a pic you posted i knew exactly where I wanted to see it.
Now I know you have more frags.......I may call be again.

I spent a day of adding frags and small colonies to my tank. I quarantine all frags unless Im absolutely sure of the previous owner. Charlies went in next day, but I have some corals I purchased online...they went in today. I just wish my pictures showed the depth and colors clearly.
