600 gallon Tank build...

Hello:

I am in the process of ordering a very large rimless tank. ~600 gallons in the display from what the dimensions look like...

This is the blueprint of the loft, its a 4 story apartment with LOTS of open area.

url]

The tank will be an "L" shaped tank with the following dimensions:

On the long side of the L it will be:
144 inches long
30 inches wide
24 inches high

On the short side of the L it will be:
72 inches long
30 inches wide
24 inches high

Net gallons should be a little under 600 gallons total.

The tank will be installed this December/January as soon as I move to my new Loft.

While I know its still a bit early to ask this question, I want to make absolutely sure I put enough thought into this decision.

What lifestock would you put in this tank to make it completely spectacular keeping in mind that it is a rimless tank that is meant to be viewed from the TOP as well as from the Side of the tank?

I will kick this off by posting my first thoughts on lifestock here..

- Wobbygong Shark or Black Banded
- Sting Ray (undefined for now)
- Some Triggerfish (crosshatch, niger and some others)
- Dogface Pufferfish and some others
- Banana Eel
- 5-7 yellow tangs

While I do understand that some of these animals are not exactly compatible (triggers vs sharks) and others might choose to jump out of the tank (banana eel) I feel somewhat confident that because of the size of the tank it might actually work...

I hope to hear your feedback and I will surely keep you guys posted as this project develops.

Regards,

Estefano

P.S. I will continually edit this first post with the newest information as it comes up :)

I must admit that I am a "mostly fish" kinda guy... I do like some corals but I will be the first to admit to not liking the "overflowing with coral to the point I cant see the sandbed" tanks that are so popular these days...

With that said... I wanted to get some suggestions to what corals and fish I "could" maybe be able to put in there and like I said before this is by no means a final outline of the livestock I will be placing in this tank. If the puffers/triggers gotta go cause they will eat everything in sight... then so be it!

I will add some snippets of the blueprints on my first post for you guys to look at.

Keep the feedback comming! I am interested in hearing what you guys think!

Regards,

Estefano

your tank isnt wide enough for a wobbegong, maybe a cortez ray, but thats it. would be great for tangs or angels but def not a good tank size for elasmobranches...
