Here's some parameters before installing the Ca reactor:

Ca: 325
dKH: 7
Mg: 1050

Installed the Ca reactor and notice the pH going up instead of going down in the chamber. Will get another CO2 bottle... tested with 2 probes and pH is going up so i am pretty sure its the bottle.

Been playing around with the Ca reactor and having some difficulties dialing in the pH, CO2 and water outlet. I set it to a pH of 6.2, with a medium drip of about 70-80 mL/min and had a built up of CO2 in the reactor so decided to make a high drip of about 100mL/min and the pH when too high...

Parameters are:
Ca: 350-375
dKH: 13 (too high... trying to bring it down, dosing the Ca to go up manually and stop the Ca reactor)
Mg: 1100

Been adding a blue Tort, Fromosa (?!) looking like an Gorgonian but having bigger polyps, and a small Superman monti frag.

Just added today an Flame Hawaiian Wrasse, Mystery Wrasse and a Ornate Leopard Wrasse.

Could you share with me the measurements of your external overflow? I am starting to get into the designing stages and of my stand and woodwork that will surround the stand. I need to know how far the tank would stick our from the wall.

Here's the measurements: 6" deep and 10.5" high, the lenght is 42". Good luck in your project and let us know!

Here's a small update:

Been having my Hippo Tang with yellow belly for quite some times now, and he finally started eating nori. Thats the only thing he is eating. I will try taking a picture of him, not easy, still very shy, only go to the open when i am far away...

I am looking for a peristaltic pump for my Ca reactor. Having trouble keeping the flow constant. I stopped the Ca reactor for now.

I have been addind some fishes from the last 2-3 weeks and got time today to snap a few pictures.

If someone know the name of them, it would be nice to tell as i am really not good to ID corals...

Also saw a crab on my rocks, dunno if its save... but took some pictures. He does not have hairs so i guess its safe for now... havent got any problems up to now to be concerned

the crab is a sally lightfoot...they are fairly reefsafe. some hwve been known to get a little picky when large, but safe until then. IIRC they will only start picking at corals when full grown and have "larger" claws.

they are lightning fast and don;t like to leave the water I had every rock out of the tank and the sally was still in during my last move. Ended up waiting until almost all of the water was out of the tank and the crab had nowhere else to go :lol:

btw...
the 4th pic is a fungia sp...they like to be on the sand and will eat meat (like mysis, brine, etc.) when placed in their feeding "slime web"

the 1st pic in the firstpost, and 3rd pic in the second post are both Gorgonians...they will NOT do well in your tank. They are fine filter feeders and generally need tanks that are specially designed to meet their constant feeding needs.

Thank you Guys, the purple one is a gorgonian and need feeding as you said. the place where i bought it had it for a couple of time and is feeding him cycloop Eeze everyday, which i also do and put DT'S everyday. My refugium is not full of cheato yet, but might help a lot once the algea growth. Since i bought it, a few branches have been showing up. The second one, i bought it as a Palmosa. I hope i wont have too much trouble getting that Sally foot crab like you did... i dont want to take the rocks out of it!

The Sally shouldn't be a problem for you...keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't get a nasty personality later in life.

Its been a while i havent give any update on my tank, and i am really sorry for that, cant keep you guys entertain.

I have been working for months on the stand look with the help of a few person, getting my idea after seeing RalfP beautiful reef tank. Since my tank is taking about 4/5 of the hole wall, i decided that closing it would be a nice. Also the sound reduction is considerable. The color on the picture seem to be black but in reality, its a dark brown. Everything is removable, the bottom of the stand have magnet like my old tank, and its been working great for me.

Next step now: making the QT tank and frag tank
Not much corals in yet, same for fishes, looking for the right ones.
