probably because it only takes 1 person to buy it. If you are rich and dont give a crap, maybe you buy it. Sometimes sellers throw poop on a wall and see if it sticks

Because the difficulty in getting a wild caught one is still very high and they have only sold a handful of captive bred so far, so if someone wants an adult or an adult pair, then they need the wild and they are going to have to pay.

Its a fish. Thats all I can say. The fact that some people will pay 3,4,5,6 hundred bucks and over on a fish that you cant even eat makes me laugh. Im all about the hobby, but some of this stuff cracks me up.
