yep.. rare or not. It's an awful ugly fish for even $30 much less $6K

Every "hobby" has it's followers that can afford to have a "price is no object" attitude.

The most I have paid for a fish so far was ~$180. The most expensive fish on my stocking list can be had for $200-$250 neither are rare, but both are much more beautiful fish.
