6000 impleller really stuck

The alarm tone on my 6000 went off, so I took it apart to stick it in some vinegar to soak for a bit. The problem I ran into was that I couldn't get the impeller off. I figured OK, I'll let is soak for a bit and try again. A few day later, I tired again and no luck. Being frustrated, I tried to use pliers (bad idea) and broke the shaft off the impeller assembly. None the less it's still stuck in the motor. At this point, I can't budge it.

Any suggestions on how I can get the impeller out? Can I ship it to Tunze for repair?

Try pulling with a pair of plyers if there is still a propeller shaft turning I believe counter clockwise, maybe jiggle back and forth a bit to loosen. It sounds like you have an old style impeller with the brakes and they are stuck in the out position likely and a good time to swap out for aa new one piece impeller. Otherwise Roger might have another idea or be able to remove for you if you send it in.

Usually this is due to calcium build up locking it in, they can be very hard to get out and the motor may be dead after all the work of trying to extract it but you won't know until you get it out. It would be best to send it in. I have a few tricks but the more it gets broken up, the harder it is to remove.
