600g Acrylic reef

Paul, you think that's alot of space but you'll soon wish you had an extra metre. I have the same kind of space and it's just not enough. Good luck!!

Looks like about 3" from the back of the stand to the wall ?? I think that should be a good amount of space... I am sure he prob wants alot more :) but have to work with what you got... I am finding out on my fish room that the 150gal poly tubs are going to be taking up a little more room what I would like, but I have to work with them or look into something customââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦

there is just under 4 feet behind and 22 inches either side. I think that gives me room to move round the tank. There will be no equipment on this side of the wall, it will all be in the garage the other side of the back wall.

Paul.

Neither can I....however, its progress will be delayed a little. I discovered a water leak today under my slab in another part of the house. Time to chop concrete up!

DOH, I am sorry to hear... Hopefully itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s not too bad...

Awsome looking setup. My question is did they powder coat inside the tubes where they did not cap the ends off. If not they could rust from inside out.Tubing is more suseptical to rust from the inside.Salt in they air could cause unseen problems inside the tubing.

Salt is not in the air unless it splashes... That is why if you have Salt water that evaporates, your SG will go up as the % of salt to water is increasing due to the decrease of water... I am not saying he does not need to seal those ends, just pointing out that salt does not enter the air unless it sprays / splashes...

while im not overly concerned about the open ends i will be sealing them. Im inserting a square of sponge foam and the filling the open hole with black silicone to match the stand.

Yeah Shawn has the right of it, im nor concerned about splashes, the coating goes pretty well inside the tubes. Im doing it more for the aesthetics....and because i dont like the ends of the tubes being open.

wellthe leak was in excess of 100g/day...but its fixed. Made a big hole in my kitchen floor tho....

once i fix the ac duct that was corroded i can backfill, seal and lay concrete, then its back to the tank work!!

Totally unrelated. Just one of those things that crops up to slow you down from doing the jobs you want to do.

Paul.

Now that you have the kitchen floor dug up, you might as well put a floor drain in. Might save your butt if the tank ever leaks.....

Plus, you can always put a tile over the drain if you ever sell the house.
:)

Great thread by the way! Can't wait to see the rest!

We're always looking for laborors to do crappy work like removing ceramics and floors...You have a job waiting for you if "Scientist-ing" doesn't work out for you.
