Thanks if seems like a good idea as I'm not gonna be setting up reef nor will I be adding any sand sifters/bottom feeders. Acrylic is interesting though, did you choose it purely based on weight or was there other reasons? Sorry again I don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to acrylic bb tanks! I love your set up an wish I could fit something like that in my house... My wife may kill me if I raise the question though :)

Mostly weight, it had to be layed on it's side to get into the house and make some corners. It was used and the right price.
 
I've heard the get big, largest of the chaetodons? Great fish so far, he is getting along with the fremblii in quarantine so far. Seems very active and I'm sure will be using the full 600 gallons for swim room.
 
Yes, a big one for sure! It'll be interesting to see how big he eventually gets in captivity.
 
This is an amazing tank and I am a reefer! I love the idea of a FOWLR tank I just haven't had the funds to have such a large tank built, plus I'm still in school for Marine Bio. I would like to pose a question for scribbles... It is very apparent that you have sunk a ton of money into this setup and esp your livestock which is top notch...so then why did you cheap out on the lighting? I think that if you had invested a little more than Marineland double brights your tank would be on another level! Please let me in on your line of thought when you chose this lighting! Again I am a reefer so lighting is very important to me maybe not so much to the fish only guys but I think that your fish would even be showing more color under better light! still knock out tank :beer:
 
Thanks for the kind words, as fot the lighting goes... the ML db's were on an old tank. I lack the knowledgeon lighting honestly. I'm researching trying to find an affortable light system that will really bring out the fish colors. I've never been much for spending a lot of money on lights because I like to spend the money on livestoc:cool: If you'd have any suggestions on lights to look into with a total cost around 500 bucks I'd greatly appreciate it.
