6025 Magnet rusting up?

Went to clean up my 6025 and noticed my wet side magnet is rusting. For now I've swapped the wet/dry side magnets to avoid polluting my tank.. and in the process of changing the pump holster out to the other magnet I managed to snap off one of the 'teeth' that snaps it into the magnet.

Pump is less than a year old, am I just having bad luck here?

There is nothing toxic in the magnet, they contain 2 steel plates and a NiFeCo magnet which is the same as most impellers are made of. Occasionally the potting resin has a pinhole or cracks from being dropped and water breaches to the magnet and plates. If you PM me your info we can send a replacement magnet.
