i currently have 4 maxi 1200s and want to get these tunzer nano stream pumps i have a 90 gallon reef tank and was thinking of putting one on each side. is it a good idea? placement? 25 or 45?

My 2 6025's work great. They're awesome. I just got a 6045 yesterday. I haven't had a chance to put it in. I will give you a review later this weekend.

In my opinion a 90 is pushing the limit of what these pumps should be used on. Keep in mind that the wide flow has far less "punch" and a 6045 covers about 18" by 3ft. If you tell me more about your tank I could offer some suggestions. What kind of corals do you keep? What type of sand bed do you have?

thanks blureef let me know how you ike the bigger ones

rvitko- i am actually just switching my tank over this weekend. i have had it an agressive tank and this is my first reef. i have been doing agressive taks for about 10 years. i put a spraybar behind my 200 pounds of rock, and am looking to house a wide variety of species. lets put it this way. i dont want to be imited to what i can house. thank you so much. i thought the 45 woud work if i put them on oppodsite sides of the tank to reach my 48'' in length. let me know

2 6045's would likely be sufficient for a lower flow reef- colts, mushrooms, polyps. 3 of them would get you to where you could keep some simpler SPS, LPS and leathers nearer the pumps. My personal preference would be to use 2 6000 Streams and a multicontroller. With these pumps you would have no limits. Flow is really critical in reef tanks, not only for the health of the corals but for keeping the debris from accumulating and feeding algae which will grow much faster under the strong light.

Got the 6045 in yesterday. Works great. It has more flow than the 6025, but with 2 other 6025's going, its hard to tell just how much more. I have had mj1200's in the past. In my opinion there is no comparison, the 6025 or 6045 are better hands down.

For my needs yes. Its a 50g 3 ft long. I can't say for yours. Depends on how much flow you want, and how strong you want it to be at given distances. My 6025's are still moving water at near 3 ft, its obviously just more gentle.

I got the 6025's from Marine Depot. When I ordered them they were back ordered and said it would be several weeks. They ended up getting an order in a couple of days (I was just lucky the way it worked out). The 6045 came from reefexotics.com. I was wait listed for 4+ weeks.
