6025 or 6045

I trade another member here on rc some equipment for a 6045 pump. At about the same time I bought one from a online store.
I placed both in my tank about the same time. They work great, however one is noticeably stronger than the other.
My question is, is there a way to tell if the one that I traded for is really a 6045 and not a 6025?

I see the model numbers, but that's just a sticker.
There is a large difference in the flow between the two.

There is a difference but would not feel like the difference between 2 maxijets for example IMO but the 45 is about 50% stronger. If there are the model number stickers on them I would doubt them to be anything other than that.

Are the insides of the shrouds the same? The 6025's outtake should come closer to the motor block than the 45s thus restricting water intake to the propeller.

I forgot to look at that.
I just did and the weaker one has a 6025 shroud or a modded shroud but it says
6045_A on the motor.

Some did a switch on me.:(

I do not think the shrouds are interchangable even on older ones. Which of the twos outakes are closer to the motor block?

Well after looking close. One shroud looks as if the out take part was dremeled out.
The other is complete.
The one that is dremeled out provides stronger flow.
I just switched them around and the one that was weaker is now stronger.
I guess this is why that mod to the shroud is popular.
