6025 Problem

In the last two days, 2 of my 6025's went down. One won't restart and I can't get the drive unit out at all. While trying to pull it out, the propeller fell off and now wont stay on.

The other one the drive unit is wobbling around making a huge racket. I can't get it to sit in and turn without it bouncing around.

Any ideas on how to get these guy's back and pushing water?

Thanks!

The pumps are probably older models that had some defects. Send them in and we will get them up to current specs.

Gotta love this site.
Last night my 6025 started clicking away in the tank.
Took it out for a good cleaning.
Put it back together and it's making a ton of noise and the drive unit is barely moving and its bouncing around. I've had this 6025 for a few years.

Got my backup in its place for now.

Got the pumps this afternoon Roger, thanks for the help!

Roger sent me back one brand new pump and one fixed pump, great service as usual!

Yes, one was actually the newer style it was just cemented up by some calcium and only needed cleaning.

I purchased a 6025 from Premium Aquatics in Nov., 2007. Six weeks later, the clamp broke. I was amazed at how soft the plastic was. Since, I have been using a cable tie to hold the pump to the magnet assembly. It works, but severely limits positioning the pump. On occasion, the pump will also make grinding noises, though the output seems not to fluctuate. Despite these problems, I still prefer this pump to powerheads.

Is there a way to differentiate the older/newer pumps?

Many thanks-
KK

The pumps have had a sticker on the box for the last year or so that says "New Generation Titanium Alloy Shaft" You can be sure these will have the redesigned clamp and new shaft and drive unit. If you send me your old pump I will take care of it and you can see the differences for yourself, they are each very subtle, mainly differences of materials and fit and finish, but they make a huge difference.

Thank you, Roger! UPS tells me you should expect my pump on Wednesday, March 17. Have a good weekend.

All the best-

Krimson,

I got your pump and it is a fairly new model, the drive unit, disk and clamp were the only things that had to be upgraded to get it to current specs, I did so and it is on the way back to you. The shaft is the new titanium alloy version.

Thank you very much, Roger. Truly a pleasure dealing with you and Tunze. I shall point fellow local aquarists to this forum as a shining example that with some companies, you do get what you pay for, and in Tunze's case, beyond.

All the best-

Roger, received the pump yesterday. It's so nice to have the clamp feature back. The pump seems to be moving even more water, though this could be my imagination. Thanks again.

Sincerely,
KK

Thanks, it may move a bit more water because the intake isn't obstructed by the clamp and zip ties.
