6025's or 6045's?

Trying to decide on a pair of nanostream 6025's or 6045's for my new 120g. I will be keeping sps/lps/clams/the works. Any suggestions from those who have either size in a 120g would be helpful. (Should I maybe mix a 25 with a 45 for more versatility???)

Also, has anyone connected these to an aquacontroller? Any difficulties?

I have my 6025's hooked up to an Aquacontroller Jr. There was one time when the ACjr did not turn a 6025 off when it was supposed to, but it's only happened once. Probably just a freak occurence. Other than that, no problems at all.

Nano-streams might be a little small for a 120g. But i guess it depends on how many you get.

I have 2x6045's in a 90g. I love them, but I still long for more flow. I would suggest the full size streams, unless you like the look and want to pay for the 6055 and get it in June/July.

Are you using min. 15 min interval or longer period ? I will set up up two 6045 on ACJR and appreciatte any inputs.

I agree that besides the 6055 your tank is probably too large for Nano Streams. What do you intend to keep?

Yeah, I'm using 15 minute intervals. Seems to work fine - I've been running mine like this for roughly 3 weeks now.

I think you need to get 6055's or 6000's to be happy with the flow, especially for SPS. 6045's could work but you will need 3-4 of them.

I would not use anything less than the 6055's for that tank. I have 2 in my 90 and so far so good. I've only had them for 1 day so it's too soon to tell but so far so good.

Regards,

Pat
