6045 - big enough?

Hello,
I have a 180gal tank and want to improve the water flow. I am thinking of adding 1-2 6045s. What I do not know if if they will be enough? Do I need a controller for the 6045s?

No the 6045's aren't contollable, so there's not only don't you need a controller...it won't even work As to whether it's enough flow what else are you using?

I have a return pump - Mag 12, I have 3 AquaClear 90s, I have one small MaxiJet.

f you are looking to upgrade and reduce total pump numbers (heat and power consumption) and want to be able to speed control the circulation I would suggest two 6101 and a 7095 controller. As an addition to your existing system two x 6045 will give excellent added wide flow.
Its hard to make recommendations as stocking and lay out vary so much.

I agree with Aquadepot, sell the Aquaclears and MaxiJets and upgrade to 6101's and a multicontroller.
