hey I have had 2 power supply go bad in the past year. the first one I just replaced and didnt think it would be covered under warranty. this one im seeing you telling people to send them in to get warranty if they are less then 2 years old. im not sure when i got mine (exact date) how can I tell if its worth sending in? what type of turn around time is on that? Should I order one to get my pumps back working and then have the replaced one an extra?

What could be causing the failure? any ideas?

thanks matt

The power supplies do not last forever, the life span you can reasonably expect is 3-4 years. They are a basic, off the shelf, laptop/netbook switching type power supply. Temps over 80F, humidity over 70% will greatly shorten the expected life. For warranty coverage they need to be sent in with a receipt. As long as no water got into the power supply and it is less than 2 years old, it will be replaced under warranty.

BTW, with regards to turn around, the day after they arrive, we open them, check for water damage, so long as everything is clear and the receipt is included we ship a new one that day. Unfortunately we have to have a receipt for the power supplies, we have no other valid way to date them as they are bought thousands at a time and the manufacture date could be a year or more out from when they were packed with a pump and shipped.
