6055 noise

I just installed my 6055 and it makes a 'growling' noise at all speeds - something I can hear from across the (quiet) room.

Is this normal?

Make sure the rubber feet are installed on the magnet holder. The 6055 is generally very quiet, but on thin glass without the rubber pads you can get a reverberation noise. Sometimes when new there is air inside the pump still and this will also create a noise, a week or two of running will eliminate these noises.

It has really started to quiet down after a couple of days, thanks I was really worried at first.! :^)
