6055 noisy?

I have one on pre-order and keep reading about all these early issues with the nanostreams.
Has all this been worked out by now, and will the pump I'll eventually receive be quiet and reliable?

Or should I cancel the order and wait a while longer?

Hi siskiou,

I've been running 3 x 6055 on a 7095 controller for the past week ... they are extremely quiet.

If I put my ear a couple inches away from them, I can hear a slight hum as they throttle up and down in speed.

I have one on a 7091 and you can definitely hear a high and low humming as the speed changes. I don't mind it and want another one.

Well, a few lucky people have been able to get their orders filled, and a few have shown up in some stores, but I've been on a waiting list for months and am still waiting to finally reach the top of the list...

I have one that is rattling on low speeds on the controller. It started to do this after a week of completely quiet functioning. I have gone from the 2 dot speed to 3 dot speed and initially it worked, now rattling again on the low speed. It appears that when the unit is in off mode while the other unit would be on it has trouble getting going. The rattle is not all of the time, intermittent for a few seconds then kicks into high gear, then back to low it rattles. I am somewhat frustrated but overall these are great for hard to reach spots adn small tanks. I have yet to take it out of the tank and re-sit the blades in the motor. I thought that might help to stop the rattle on start up in low speeds. In higher speed it is quiet as they come, but I don't want it on high speed all of the time or I would have gotten the 6045's.

I am about to. Roger has been excellent about customer service and fixing these products. It is just a pain. Now it appears the 6055 in question is not working at all, just clanking in that "I can't get going" mode. I am off to PM Roger.

I have one. was on the waiting list at aquarium specialties for 8 months till the first release and I was first on the list. Its great. I also have 2 6025's running as well. Worth the wait.(unless you need flow now. heheh)

I have a pair on my 180 (they supplement by 2 6100's in some directions that weren't getting enough flow). They are quieter than my 6100's, which weren't audible from more than 2 inches away anyway. With the food timer, I do get an audible click every now and again (although this seems to be going away), but other than that they have been flawless.
