6055 or 6095

Question on selection here: Is the flow pattern of the 6095 significantly wider than the 6055. I am currently running with three 6055's on a 75g and am considering swapping one of them out for a 6095 when I set up my new 90g. Would I notice a wider flow with the 6095's?

My current setup has one 6055 pointed along the back wall and the other two on opposite sides of the tank from each each pointing diagonally off the front glass. These I alternate on/off.

Also, on the website it shows the 6095 with the propeller exposed. I assume there is a cover that goes over the output nozzle, like the 6055. If not this may be an issue for me as I have a blenny who might venture into the 6095 when it is off. Thanks!

I just picked up a 6095. its GREAT !

the flow is almost as wide as my MP40 if that would help you.

it comes with jumpers for different speeds.

the size is same as the nano steams ! its tiny.

thre is a cover for the front.

only problem, it seems to little for the water it moves ! I see it vibrate lol [but of course no noise what so ever with the rubber foots ... ]

I like it alot so far.

It is dramatically wider, about 2 times the width, but about a ft shorter reach as well.

I am thinking about putting 2 6095's on the back of my 210 which is 24" wide. I think they should work out great a supplemental flow to my 2 Vortechs.. They are controllable with the Apex correct? What is the flow reach supposed to be?

I'm not a big fan of the jumpers to set power supply voltages. Would one of my 6055 power supplies work with the 6095? Thanks again it is great to be able to get this kind of advice before ordering.

Yes, the 6055 power supply you have would work, but from now on all 6055 and 6095 use the new power supply with the jumpers. While I understand it is not as convenient as the switch, it is superior, the new units are better closed up (less likely to be killed by a small spill where water might enter the switch) and the new power supply is much smaller.
