6055 problem

I have two 6055s in my 100 gal. Sometime throughout the night one of them starting turning off and on. It is doing this for 5 or 10 seconds, and then it stops completely for about 10 seconds and starts all over. I unplugged the controller and it continued to do the same thing. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I would start by cleaning the pump, remove the propeller assembly (drive unit 6055.700) and make sure it is not stuck to the shaft. Have you tried the power supply from your working pump? Do you know how old the pump is?

Bought the pumps used so I don't know the age. I will switch the power supplies and see what happens. I will take it apart and clean it as well. Thanks.

I cleaned it, and it seemed to help a little. It still starts and stops, but once every couple of minutes. I also swapped power supplies and the pump did the same thing. Suggestions?

Assuming you are in the US, I would send it in to us for repair, I just need the pump itself, no magnet holder and it sounds like we can rule out the power supply. Include a note with your return address and phone number.
