6055 Question

I decided to run my Elos cube with a few 6055's on a 7095 (based on excellent past Tunze performance and amazing customer service). I may get a 7096 after I research a little bit. I just ordered a couple new 6055's, and have an older one. I've been away for awhile, I guess they're coming with titanium shafts now. What is the basic difference in performance, and if it's substantial - can I order a titanium shaft for my older model 6055? Is it as easy as popping the new shaft in? Sorry for the basic question.

Sheesh. Every box I open I find more Tunzes. I have two older ones. The date stamp for them are 2007, which is when I got my 70 years ago. Both pumps seem to work fine, but if there's a way to make them better, more reliable, I'd prefer to just replace any parts now.

Thanks!

Since your 6055's very little has changed, the shafts likely have not, we only made a couple hundred stainless steel shaft 6055's in June of 2007 and immediately switched to the titanium alloy (really 316TI which is the very high grade stainless with a couple percent titanium added that they use to make the brake and fuel lines on luxury cars). So few of these stainless steel shaft 6055's made it to the US that it is a remote chance you have one and there is no way to change the shaft anyway. The shaft should never be removed, it is designed as a permanent part of the motor. The new 6055's have a new silence clamp 6025.650 which reduces vibration transfer to the glass, a new 6055.700 drive unit which is quieter and a new 6055.740 disk which is quieter, those are the 3 retrofittable improvements.

Thanks Roger. When the 6055's get in, I'll check them in the tank to see how silent they are relative to the old ones. Where can I get these parts, if needed? Thru you direct, or say MD/PA/etc?

Well I did a quick google search on the three parts - I found them on ebay. I'd prefer to order direct, can I order two of each from you?

No problem, but I am out of the disks, I expect more at the end of next week. You can order them on Tunze.com or just give me a call or shoot me a PM.
